austrian wines at kipferl

austria is the home to some excellent and unique wines, such as the by now famous white gruener veltliner and the red zweigelt grapes. The trade magazine 'restaurant' (issue 104/Jan 4th, 2006) even predicts austrian wines to be the 'top tipple #1' of the year 2006! Kipferl offers a unique retail environment to chose from a variety of typcial and largely unavailable Austrian wines sourced directly from the producers.

We have selected a small number of young and ambitious wine growers from three top austrian wine growing regions:
- Weingut Biegler in Gumpoldskirchen in the Thermenregion south of Vienna, well known for the rare Rotgipfler and Zierfandler and fruity Zweigelts
- Matthias Hager and Familie Weixelbaum in Kamptal - famous for its gruener veltliner and rieslings and
- Daniel Jaunegg and Stefan Potzinger in Suedsteiermark in the very south of austria, home to fine traminers and rarities such as scheurebe and blauer wildbacher
